Christopher J. Holland, D.D.S.
 Dr.
Holland earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1990 from
The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio…known
to be the number one dentistry school in the nation. Next,
he completed an 18 month General Practice Residency with
the United States Air Force, after which he opened his private
practice. And he's been busy putting into practice the art
and science of comfortable, comprehensive dentistry ever
since.
Dr. Holland's continuing education emphasis has included
additional training in cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry,
periodontology,
and oral hygiene. This advanced study gives him a solid,
practical understanding of the wide variety of interrelated
issues involved
in maintaining overall dental health.
Staff
Of course you expect a dental staff to be qualified, responsible,
and able to work as a team. And while those traits are essential
in our own staff, we're also known for some less common qualities.
We know how to care for real people, with real courtesy and
concern. This means that we invest our time each year in continuing
education, keeping up to date with the latest so that we can
be a true resource for you. And it also means that we invest
plenty of time in you, listening, empathizing with your situation,
and helping you learn how to attain your own 'personal best'
level of dental health.
 Melissa
Avila, Treatment Coordinator/Dental Assistant
Melissa is the kind of person that everyone enjoys being
around… she likes meeting new people and is a natural
at making patients feel comfortable. She's worked in the dental
field for five years, and has been here with us for three.
In her off hours, Melissa likes to spend her time with her
6 year-old son; she also enjoys reading and outdoor activities.
 Helena
Harris, Office Manager
A true veteran of dentistry, Helena has
21 years of experience. And although much of her work goes
on behind the scenes, she's definitely a key reason why things
run
as smoothly
as they do around here. She not only understands how things
work up in the front office, but has a first-hand knowledge
of the other aspects of our practice as well—having
obtained her Associates Degree in Dental Assisting, Dental
X-ray Technician
License, Biofeedback Coordinator License, and Dental Assistant
Certification as well.
Aside from enjoying her rewarding career with our practice,
Helena incorporates her own hobbies into those of her 3 daughters…
including swimming, cooking and a new venture, Tae Kwon Do.
Her entire family enjoys the water and spends every possible
extra moment at the beach.
 Liz
Luera, Treatment, Coordinator/Dental Assistant
Liz has 7 years of experience in the dental field and effortlessly
puts our patients at ease during their visits.
She loves spending time with her family, which includes
her 2 children. Her hobbies include running, kickboxing,
playing Texas Hold'em and riding her motorcycle with her
husband.
 Faith
Spurlin, RDH
Faith has worked
in the dental field for 7 years, with 2 years as an orthodontic
assistant and 5 years as a hygienist. She is from Corpus
Christi and attended Del Mar College where she earned her
Associates degree in Dental Hygiene in 2000. Her experience
and gentle manner help comfort our younger patients
and those with dental phobias.
Faith enjoys traveling, music, tennis, going to the beach
and other outdoor activities with her dog Lexi.
