BlueCross BlueShield Dental Coverage & Availability
Each BlueCross BlueShield dental insurance plan will be different, depending on your plan premiums, specific treatment elections, and other factors. The basics usually remain the same. In exchange for your payment of a premium each month, BlueCross BlueShield offers coverage for a percentage of the cost of necessary preventive and restorative dentistry services up to an individual treatment cost and annual benefit maximums. Most BlueCross BlueShield dental plans offer 80 to 100% coverage for preventive dental exams and teeth cleanings. Minor restorative dentistry services like fillings receive 70 to 80% coverage, and more advanced restorations like dental crowns receive 50 to 70% coverage. In order to provide an exact estimate of your out of pocket treatment costs, we’ll need to review your policy.
Because we’re an in-network provider with BlueCross BlueShield, our team has agreed to charge prices that fall within those fees set by your policy. That means you won’t have to worry about paying any additional fees for service, which may happen if you visit an out of network dentist. While dental offices will do their best to offer affordable treatments, an out of network dental office may charge fees that are higher than those set by your insurer, but you’ll need to pay the difference in pricing as well as the out of pocket percentage of your treatment costs. When you visit an in-network dental office, you never have to worry about paying any added costs.
