Invisalign at New Image Dentistry
Invisalign lets image-conscious patients achieve the confident, dazzling smile they’ve always dreamed of. Using a series of clear, acrylic aligners that apply gentle pressure to your teeth, they gradually straighten your smile in just 12 to 18 months. And what’s more, because the aligners are removable, you can take them out to eat, brush, floss, and even for special occasions, like a dinner out with friends, an important business meeting, or a special family event.

Invisalign with iTero 3D Scanner
We begin every Invisalign treatment by taking an impression of a patient’s teeth using our iTero 3D scanner. This helps us identify the starting positions of the teeth so we can figure out the most efficient ways to move them. This device not only gives us much more information than a traditional physical impression, but the process is also much more comfortable. Now, a patient does not have to spend minutes biting into dental putty. The teeth are scanned with a small device, and within minutes, we have a perfect digital model of the bite on a nearby monitor.
Payment Options
One of the first questions people tend to have when considering Invisalign is, "How much will it cost?" The good news is that most individuals are pleasantly surprised that the cost of Invisalign treatment is usually comparable to the cost of traditional braces.

Getting started with Invisalign is easy. After you’ve talked to Dr. Holland, you’ll need to come to our San Antonio dental office to have an impression of your smile taken. An Invisalign lab will make your aligners using this impression and your detailed treatment plan as a guide. Once your aligners are ready and you’ve picked them up, you’ll need to wear each pair of aligners for about two weeks. As you do, your smile will gradually be moved into its correct alignment.
Invisalign Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have questions about what your life will be like while undergoing Invisalign treatment? With so many benefits to offer, we don’t want you to miss out on this modern orthodontic service, which is why we’ve answered some common questions we receive from patients below. With this information, you can feel comfortable and confident in your decision to enhance your grin with Invisalign.
Does it hurt to wear Invisalign aligners?
One great benefit of Invisalign treatment is that you won’t have to deal with pokey and uncomfortable metal wires and brackets that can scrape the inside of your lips and cheeks. Invisalign aligners are made from a smooth plastic material that’s customized to fit the unique shape of your teeth, so you won’t have to worry about damaging your oral tissues.
Some patients do experience some slight tenderness when they switch over to a new set of trays. A great way to avoid this is to switch them at night, so you sleep through a majority of the adjustment period. Typically, this goes away within a day or two after you change your trays.
Are Invisalign trays hard to take care of?
Invisalign trays aren’t difficult to care for. You just have to make sure to regularly sanitize and clear them of plaque and bacteria so it doesn’t get trapped between your teeth and the appliance. All you need to do is clean them using a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear, antibacterial soap. Avoid using toothpaste, because this is too abrasive and can scratch your trays.
To keep your aligners looking clean and clear, you’ll also want to take them out every time you eat and drink anything other than water. To sanitize them, you can place them in a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar for 10 to 15 minutes. Just be sure to rinse them before you put them back in your mouth! On top of this, it’s important to regularly brush, floss, and rinse your teeth to keep them healthy and avoid any cavities throughout your treatment.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Depending on the severity of the orthodontic problems you’d like to fix, your Invisalign treatment time can vary. Typically, a good rule-of-thumb to go by is that the less drastic your orthodontic issues are, the fewer aligners you’ll require, and the shorter the treatment. When you visit our dental office for your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your timeline with you so you know exactly what to expect throughout the process. If you have any questions, you can ask our friendly team of dental professionals as well!
How often will I need to visit my dentist during Invisalign treatment?
Throughout the treatment, patients typically visit our dental office every six to eight weeks for short progress checks and to receive their new set of aligners. These usually take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes and can easily be squeezed into a lunch break if needed!
